ASSISTANT OSH MANAGER

Role Overview:
- Create, implement, and continuously improve Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (OSHMS), based on relevant OSH criteria, standards and performance, aiming at providing a method to assess and improve performance in the prevention of workplace incidents and accidents via the effective management of hazards and risks in the workplace
- Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Committee for the periodic assessments of workplace physical demands, health concerns, and hazards
- Able to make appropriate program recommendations for the prevention of work-related sickness or injuries
- Assist in formulation and implementation of DOLE-required health policies and programs
- Monitor compliance of employees to periodic health risk assessments, monitor employees with dreaded illnesses and monitor and regularly coordinate with health providers regarding services and reports to ensure that services are of standard
- Oversee routine medical care and services, especially regarding availability of medicines and supplies at onsite clinics
- Coordinate regularly with Safety Team to ensure seamless flow of services and make further recommendations on improving current processes
- Prepare reports as required by DOLE, DOH, and any other reports required by regulatory agencies
- Able to do basic clinical services such as, but not limited to, taking vital signs, attending to first aid cases (i.e. cuts, burns, sprains, etc.), injections, etc
- Able to work with other departments within the division for medically-related issues
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of Nursing or any Allied Medical courses
- 10 years or more experience in Occupational Safety and Health practice
- Experience in creating and implementing OSH Quality Management Systems
- Preferably with trainings in Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH), Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Has excellent documentation skills
- Proficient in MS Office and other basic web systems
- Knowledgeable in all regulatory requirements
