DATA PROTECTION SPECIALIST

Role Overview:

• Ensures compliance to applicable laws and regulations for the protecTion of data privacy and security
• Conducts Privacy Impact Assessments
• Informs and cultivates awareness on privacy and data protection
• Advocates for the development, review and/or revision of policies, guidelines, projects and/or programs relating to privacy and data protection, by adopting a privacy by design approach              
• Establishes security measures for data protection (i.e. organization, physical and technical measures) and corresponding regular audit or testing processes to assess their effectiveness
• Ensures proper data breach and security incident management
• Provides advice on matters in relation to data privacy and security and liaises with concerned regulatory agencies or governing bodies

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant courses
• With at least 2 years of information security / data privacy practice
• Can communicate, present, and negotiate effectively, with strong command of the English language, both written and oral
• Has a keen eye on details with strong planning and analytical skills
• Familiarity with security frameworks and privacy regulations (e.g. NIST Cybersecurity framework, CIS-CSC, ISO27001, Data Privacy Act) and risk management methodologies
• Expert knowledge and experience in privacy and data protection policies/laws and practices
