R&D OFFICER (FORMULATOR)

Role Overview: 

• Designs & develops leave on and rinse off formulations that are innovative, cost-effective and consumer-centric with minimal supervision. Project can cover new product development, product upgrades and cost savings. Ensures product stability, functionality, safety and optimization of product aesthetics. Leads relevant technical documentation, including but not limited to ingredient listing, product specification, raw material specification and claims support. 
• Establishes/negotiates on technical project plans and timelines. Effectively communicates technical matters within & outside R&D, including the highlight of implications to the audience, clear action plan and timelines.
• Independently creates hypotheses, study designs and analyzes technical results to make a conclusion and translate this to concrete action plans. 
• Independently makes batches & troubleshoots technical issues in consultation with Lead Formulator &/or identified technical group. 
• Collaborates with other R&D Functions, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Marketing to fully progress product up to launch. 
• Leads other projects / performs tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor. 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree holder in Chemistry, Biology, or other related courses
• Has at least five (5) years of work experience in FMCG or at least three (3) years of work experience in scientific research work
• Patient, self-motivated, high degree of technical curiosity,  interested to work on personal care products
• Able to design  products  from scratch and able to trouble shoot  to  arrive to a conclusion/decision
• Understands raw material profile and its compatibility with other ingredients
• Innovative with  effective  communications skills and able to  write technical report
•  Extensive knowledge on skin science
• Open to work in Sta Rosa Laguna
